We are a website about CubeSats, NanoSats and their Launches. Our mission is to discuss and share events and future missions around the topic. CubeSat’s are a less known topic when it comes to satellite space delivery systems. We want to share and contribute to this topic so businesses and the general pubic are aware the service and the best way to deploy their CubeSats to the ISS and LEO (Low Earth Orbit).
So what is a CubeSat exactly?
A CubeSat is a 10×10×11.35 cm cubic unit. Typically, there are multiple units. They have a maximum mass of 1.33 kilograms per unit. They are placed into orbit by deplores on the International Space Station or as a secondary payload. CubeSat’s are built by both small and large companies as well as private individuals. Some people have even created them through kick starter campaigns. More than half of the launches are for commercial purposes or from amateurs while the others are mostly academic. Overall, they typically are miniature and serve a purpose such as radio or observations from space.
